A variety of belts and discs are available for any project. Multitool fits most popular brands of grinders with screw-on type wheel guards with no special adapter required. We requires at least 1/3 HP (1/2 HP or more recommended). Shaft size must be 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" or 14mm diameter. With a standard 3,450 RPM grinder belt speed is approximately 5,400 surface feet per minute. The fitting kit contains a universal adaptor with radial slots to suit grinder's wheel guard mounting holes, and easy to follow instructions. Multitool will NOT fit a grinder with heavy cast wheel guards if the guards are used to retain the spindle bearings. Click here for a .pdf template to see if it fits.

Extremely versatile grinder attachment. Use it for everything from sharpening mower blades to grinding knife blades and sanding. Only wish I had a variable speed grinder.

I had previously tried to use a belt/disc sander made for woodworking, it would stall with the least amount of pressure when grinding metal. The Multi tool with the Jet 1 HP grinder is just about impossible to stall or even slow down even when doing heavy grinding on metal parts. I am totally impressed with this tool and it is becoming one of my most favorite tools in my shop.

I use the Multitool day in and day out repairing 4130 chromoly sprint car chassis. For years I had a 6in X 48in floor belt sander. I was constantly shredding belts. The Multitool is two years old and I have yet to shred a belt. They just wear out but do not shred. I have been using the belts I purchased from Van Sant. I use the grinder in the horizontal position. This gives me a top flat surface, the rounded end wheel and the flex of the belt on the underside. Works great in my shop. The old belt sander is in the corner collecting dust from the Multitool.
