Pullmax machines are electric reciprocating machines originally built in Sweden and later made by the American Pullmax Company in Chicago, Illinois. Although the models we have listed in this article are no longer made, these machines are still very popular today for metal shaping and sheet metal fabrication. The Pullmax uses a stationary lower die and reciprocating upper die. The stroke of the upper die can be adjusted as well as the height of the lower tool in order to get the desired gap for various operations. Because of the massive frames and weight of these machines, they can work in very heavy gauges of material for applications like shearing, beading, offsetting, edge turning, flanging, doming, and shrinking. Pullmax machines use square shanks for their tooling and can be somewhat be identified by shank size. See our Pullmax tooling category here.
